Florianopolis Vacation Rental

Florianopolis Brazil is one of the most beautiful and safest cities in the country and is where most Brazilians and other neighboring countries go to vacation (not Rio de Janeiro, as many would believe). Florianopolis (called Floripa for short) is famous for it's abundant beautiful women and white sandy beaches pumping with some of the best surf in the world. Many world travelers claim that, with all things considered, it is the best place in the world and have even settled there full time or simply purchased vacation homes there, as we have.

Florianopolis Vacation Homes for Rent (Private Jacuzzi's included) 

We have two town-homes available next door to each other (units 29 and 30) in a private gated community. These beautiful townhouses are located just a few minutes walk from one of the most beautiful & popular beaches in Florianopolis, a beach called Praia Mole (translated "Soft Beach" and pronounced Praia Moley). To the locals, this beach is specifically known for being the beach for "beautiful people" and big pumping surf and is my personal favorite in Brazil. We especially recommend it for any single guys out there looking to meet a beautiful Brazilian woman (as we did).

Amenities

Both vacation rental homes are American-owned and equipped with all the luxuries of an American home. Both units are equipped with high-speed DSL wireless Internet and California Vonage phone lines (unlimited free calling to the USA) allowing many to continue working from Brazil as if they never left the USA. 

Unit 29 has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with a private Jacuzzi in the backyard, which heats in just 30 minutes. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs with a queen size bed in each bedroom plus 3 convertible sofa beds in the house. The kitchen is located downstairs along with the dining room and 2 living rooms that have partitions (sliding doors or pull down blinds for privacy) and can be converted into additional bedrooms if needed. This house sleeps up to 9 people and there are 3 air conditioning units in the house (one in each bedroom and one downstairs). It also has a 29 inch TV with DVD player and indoor washer & dryer.

Unit 30 is a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath. It is the largest and most beautiful unit in the complex. It has three bedrooms are located upstairs while the down stairs is the common area with two livings rooms, dining room, 1/2 bath & the Kitchen. The master bedroom has a private Jacuzzi tub and there is a small pool in the backyard which doubles as a large jacuzzi with powerful jets and all. The house is equipped with 3 air conditioning units, satellite TV with US Channels,  DVD player, and washer & dryer.

Florianopolis Brazil

Florianopolis (called Floripa for short) is the capital of Santa Catarina (a state in south Brazil). Floripa is a large island (about 22 miles long) with 42 different beaches. Our vacation rental homes are located on the east coast of the island on a narrow strip of land (about 300 yards wide), which separates the lagoon from the ocean. With the beautiful lagoon on one side of the housing complex and the beach on the other, you are literally surrounded by water and nature. We call this area the filet mignon of the island due to it's beautiful and convenient location, just a few minutes drive to many restaurants, bars, nightclubs, gyms, and grocery stores. Plus being just a 5-minute walk to the beach means you can bypass all of the high-season afternoon traffic (people leaving the beach), which turns the main road into a parking lot for a few hours per day, making this convenient location extremely desirable.  

Florianopolis Airport & Arrival

There are no direct flights to Florianopolis from outside South America. You will either have to route through Sao Paulo or Rio De Janeiro. Make sure you have at least a 3 hour layover before your connecting flight to Florianopolis because you will have to pick up your luggage, go through customs with your luggage, and then check back in to your connecting flight. If you end up with a really long layover in Sao Paulo, there is a hotel on the bottom floor of the Airport that rents rooms by the hour. It's a very nice high-end hotel. The first hour is about $50 USD and then $10 or $20 per hour thereafter. Depending on the length of your layover, it could be well worth the price, especially if you plan on going out the night of your arrival. Nightclubs don't close until 5 - 7 am so you'll want all the rest you can get.

Florianopolis Airport Transport and Car Rental

Whether you rent your own car or not, we can arrange for one of our tour guides to give you a ride or a personal escort to the house (about a 20-minute drive). You can rent a car at the Florianopolis airport but if you're arriving in late December through Feb, you should reserve a car beforehand. The people at Avis speak English and the best car to rent is a Chevy Astra if you want to spend the money on something nice with lots of power. The cheapest car is a Celta 1.0 liter but has very little power with no power steering or power brakes, which are features that often come in handy while driving the windy hilly roads in Brazil.
